Latitude Geographics Group Ltd., in conjunction with Refractions Research, was the first and is still the only firm to offer dynamic 3D viewer functionality in the ArcIMS environment. We can add 3D functionality to virtually any ArcIMS site.

There are presently two options for viewing ArcIMS layers in 3D. First, a user can click a button to generate a 3D perspective image for their current ArcIMS viewer extent, without the use of a plugin. Second, they can launch a 3D scene through a downloadable 3.8 MB viewer plugin, which allows them to dynamically fly through the 3D scene. The plugin need only be installed the first time they visit the site. While the plugin may take a few minutes to install, it is well worth the effort. Note that we will soon make available a dynamic 3D viewer that does not require a software plugin.
