Quinte West Maps
The City of Quinte West, Ontario

Description/Purpose: QuinteWestMaps.com is the City of Quinte West's community interactive GIS web application. This application allows the public to view detailed mapping that illustrates street names, topographical detail (i.e. watercourses, woodlands) aerial photography (scale 1:12000), municipal features (parks, fire and police stations, recreational facilities) and community features (schools, churches, cemeteries)

Notes:
  • Developed in conjunction with Latitude Geographics and ESRI Canada, released in November 2005
  • Ongoing deployment of Geocortex IMF by the City of Quinte West GIS Division
  • 2007 International ESRI SAG Recipient (Special Achievement in GIS)

Geospatial Environmental Mapping System (GEMS)
Grand Junction, Colorado

Description/Purpose: The Geospatial Environmental Mapping System (GEMS) was designed to provide dynamic mapping and environmental monitoring data display for sites managed by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Legacy Management.

Notes:
  • Developed by Latitude Geographics, released in March 2007
  • Uses dynamic layers to generate site specific theming on the fly
  • Integrated with Crystal Reports

Leonard Sullivan Oklahoma County Assessor Online Mapping
Oklahoma County Assessor, Oklahoma

Description/Purpose: This application provides county geographic information integrated with a powerful CAMA (Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal) system. A perennially popular and evolving offering since 2003, it is used heavily by county staff, realtors and members of the public to access detailed tax mapping information for Oklahoma County, Oklahoma.

Notes:
  • 2005 ESRI Special Achievement in GIS Award Winner
  • Spatial architecture co-located at Geocortex Data Center, CAMA server deployed at OK County Assessor.
  • Developed and maintained by Latitude Geographics

Bay County Interactive Mapping/City of Panama City
Bay County, Florida

Description/Purpose: This map service is a general purpose county GIS viewer. Geocortex Statistics provides monthly reports on map usage to the Bay County administrative staff.

Notes:
  • The application was used to provide emergency evacuation information to the public in anticipation of Hurricane Ivan in September 2004
  • Powered by complete ArcIMS hosting through Geocortex Data Center

InfoMap
Orange County Government, Florida

Description/Purpose: The Orange County Board of County Commissioners launched InfoMap, their popular interactive mapping site, as a public service in 2002. Internally, the County provides web-based GIS to its Emergency Operations Center and other county departments.

Notes:
  • Ongoing deployment of ArcIMS/Geocortex IMF from Orange County data center, with development/training support from Latitude Geographics

St. Johns County Property Appraiser Online Mapping
St. Johns County Property Appraiser, Florida

Description/Purpose: Property Appraisers assess property and administer exemptions. SJCPA developed this application to provide sale information and other County Assessor related information to the public.

COSMOS (City of Surrey Mapping Online System)

Description/Purpose: The public version of COSMOS has achieved remarkable user growth since its launch in early 2004. It is intended to provide citizens and businesses with information about the rapidly growing City, which has been a hotbed of development in recent years. The internal version of COSMOS provides significant additional functionality and data, and was developed to replace a previous ArcView 3.x based-infrastructure.

Albuquerque Bosque Internet Mapping System
US Army Corps of Engineers, New Mexico

Description/Purpose: Designed to help manage an environmental restoration project of the Rio Grande River and the surrounding flood lands near Albuquerque, New Mexico, this system plays a role not only in the analysis of data but also as a tool for disseminating information.

Notes:
  • Designed for non-traditional GIS users to access a plethora of geospatial information and functionality
  • Used by both US Army Corps of Engineers, and members of public
  • Promotes dynamic interaction and consensus building through cooperative use of markup tools, saved sessions and PDF printing
  • Featured in Winter 2005/2006 issue of ESRI's ArcNews magazine:
    "Middle Rio Grande River Being Restored Using GIS"

Interactive Mapping System
City of Bartlesville, Oklahoma

Description/Purpose: Bartlesville is representative of many relatively small jurisdictions that have adopted Geocortex IMF to provide a complete solution for internal and external GIS requirements.

Notes:
  • Data available in mapping site includes: aerial photos, floodplains, sanitation routes, water facilities, school & park locations etc.
  • Powered by complete ArcIMS hosting through Geocortex Data Center

Wetlands Online Mapper
US Fish & Wildlife Service

Description/Purpose: The development of the new Wetlands Online Mapper stems from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's (Service) need to expand and improve the availability of digital wetlands data. The Service's strategic plan for digital wetland data is focused on the development, revision, and dissemination of wetlands data and information to Service resource managers and the public. The present goal of the Service is to provide the citizens of the United States and its Trust Territories with current geospatially referenced information on the status, extent, characteristics and functions of wetlands, riparian, deepwater and related aquatic habitats in priority areas to promote the understanding and conservation of these resources.

Description/Purpose: GIS-NET was developed to provide the public with geographic information regarding land use planning and zoning for the unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County. It was developed by the Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning.

Notes:
  • Integration with Assessor parcel data, aerial imagery and many other GIS overlays.
  • Primary focus is unincorporated areas (over 2,500 sq. miles; 1 million population).
  • Deployment, development and maintenance by the County of Los Angeles; initial development by the County of Los Angeles, Latitude Geographics, and ESRI.

MARIS Online Mapping System
Mississippi Automated Resource Information System Technical Center, Mississippi

Description/Purpose: This application provides access to Mississippi's statewide GIS. It provides an interface for users to easily download complete vector and raster datasets. Public users can access and extract the data they are seeking without having to go through an administrator. This increases efficiency of the process and saves administrative costs.

Land Record/GIS

Description/Purpose: This site was created in order to assist the public with locating information about property within Ada County. This site features integrated form-based search tools to help users search for parcels in a simple and non-intimidating way.

  • Designed for users who are unfamiliar with GIS

Description/Purpose: City of Birmingham provides a variety of map layers to the public, combined with tools that help users find addresses, landmarks, and other answers to their questions.

  • Several new tools developed for City of Birmingham were incorporated into the core Geocortex IMF through Latitude's unique Open Intellectual Property Model

Public Library Geographic Database (PLGDB) Mapping
Florida State University, Florida

Description/Purpose: Developed by the GeoLib program at Florida State University, the goal of PLGDB was to provide consolidated marketing information on libraries nationwide that is easily accessed via the Internet. PLGDB helps with 'best practices' public library decision making.

Notes:
  • Designed for users with no prior GIS experience
  • Awarded Special Achievement in GIS Award from ESRI in July 2005
  • Includes locations of 16,000 public libraries across the United States
  • Includes U.S. Census data and library use statistics from the National Center for Educational Statistics

Internet Mapping
Hamilton County, Tennessee

Description/Purpose: This site is a typical IMF installation designed to satisfy internal and external GIS & mapping requirements. A customized mail merge notification tool was built to provide Hamilton County administrative staff with a simple efficient tool for delivering important information to the public within a user defined distance of a subject property/address.

Building A Cooperative Land Information Solution
Integrated Cadastral Information Society, British Columbia

Description/Purpose: This web mapping site provides access to geographic data maintained by the members of the Integrated Cadastral Information Society of British Columbia. The Society was formed for the purposes of developing, maintaining and distributing a province-wide cadastral fabric and other related datasets for the use of the Members. This data is from local governments, utilities, and the Province of British Columbia. It is presented here in an integrated display for view, query, download and plotting from a Web browser.

  • Many contributing partners in government, corporate and public sectors

InfoLaSalle
Town of LaSalle, Ontario

Description/Purpose: The intent of InfoLaSalle is to provide a visual display of and easy access to information pertaining to the Town of LaSalle.

Notes:
  • Using tiered access to map data and functionality, members of the general public are provided with a subset of the application, while authenticated users are provided with customized levels of access to additional data and functionality, depending on their credentials
  • Employs relational database linking functionality

Internet Mapping Sites
The County of Essex, Ontario
Canada

Description/Purpose: The application is administered centrally, but each lower tier township in the County of Essex has access to its own locally relevant data and website. Townships can build, customize and manage their sites independently using the GUI-based Site Manager for Geocortex IMF, which eliminates the need for programming custom applications.

  • Model of multiple-tiered site management for a county with multiple lower-tier townships
