Overview
When
Latitude Geographics first deployed ArcIMS, we discovered
that people need help using the maps. Because no help
system existed, we developed a comprehensive on-line help
system for both the HTML and Java viewers. Geocortex Compass
offers users help using specific buttons in the viewers
as well as task based help. For users unfamiliar with
Internet maps, we developed a short tutorial that gives
someone who has never even heard of GIS the knowledge
to use an ArcIMS map in about ten minutes. The tutorial
is available for both the HTML and Java Viewers.
Geocortex Compass took weeks to develop, and has been considerably refined thanks to feedback from users. There has been tremendous interest in Geocortex Compass not only because it is a high quality, effective product, but because the licensing fee is a fraction of the cost to develop a similar system in house. Licensees are free to tailor the product to fit their individual needs.
The best way to get a sense of Geocortex Compass is to browse through it for yourself. We invite you to do so.
