Technical Information Engineered from the ground-up to strike the perfect balance between ease of deployment and versatility, Geocortex Secure Data Gateway can be easily configured to meet the needs of a diverse array of organizations. Integration Geocortex SDG allows organizations to integrate their enterprise database applications with web-based GIS components. While it is designed for stand-alone deployment, a module has been developed that allows easy deployment of Geocortex SDG as an off-the-shelf extension to Geocortex Internet Mapping Framework (IMF). Exporting and importing feature sets between Geocortex IMF and a form-based client application allows concurrent manipulation of the same dataset within spatial and aspatial environments. Communication between Geocortex IMF and the external database client application is facilitated through a transaction table. The mappings between the spatial data and the external data are created and maintained in the database within the client architecture. Any changes made to the underlying data structures, whether they are spatial or aspatial, can be made without having to alter Geocortex IMF in any way. Secure Access Geocortex SDG offers secure client-server communication using SOAP-based messaging and SSL data encryption. This ensures any request to access your data is restricted to the SDG client. Versatility Geocortex SDG is a highly scalable web-based database gateway built on distributed processing technology, and fully supports multi-tier client-server architectures. The components can be deployed on a single server or across multiple servers, depending on your needs.
