“Hi. It’s Paul here from VertiGIS. Today, we are going to have a look at how you can use the app ID to find items using Geocortex Item Manager. Let’s dive in!
So, I’d just like to clarify which ID we’re referring to when we say app ID or otherwise known as the client
ID.
Every application does of course have the item ID, but the ID we’re referring to is this ID over here in Settings and under Registered Info and it’s this guy here, this App ID. Normally this is set up to or used to set up oauth:2, just to gain access for other applications and things like that.
You can see if I copy this ID, and I attempt to search for this in my ArcGIS Online organization, I’m not able to find it. It’s it doesn’t return any results.
If I was an individual at an organization that was given this ID, and this is the only information I had about an ID, an application, I would be kind of stuck – I wouldn’t have anywhere to go to actually locate this this app.
If I go over into Geocortex Item Manager, I can find it.
I just need to change the filter here to Register App Client ID, run a search and there it is! So, I’m able to now use all the tools that are available to me in Geocortex Item Manager and I’m all set.
