With Geocortex Printing, your printing requirements no longer need to be a hassle. With a few simple steps, you can be printing high-resolution, rich-quality data sets either in your Geocortex viewer framework or Esri’s Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS.
In this next video of our comparison series of how the newest generation of Geocortex products differentiates from their previous versions in Geocortex Essentials, we wanted to demonstrate how much easier it is to print vector tile layers with Geocortex Printing.
Geocortex Essentials was unable to print vector tile layers, but Geocortex Printing is capable of printing these layers right out-of-the-box with no configuration necessary. Learn how below!

“Hi, my name is Darren and I am a developer on the Products team. Today, I am going to demonstrate printing vector tile layers with Geocortex Printing, let’s take a look.
I’ll start by demonstrating printing vector tile layers from Geocortex Viewer for HTML5. Here, I have a very simple site, composed of a single vector tile layer as a base map and just a map service laying over top of that.
I’ll go ahead and open up my print tool, I’ll select my Essentials print template. Just to demonstrate that Essentials Printing wasn’t able to print the vector tile layer. Next, I’ll go ahead and select my Geocortex Printing template. Print that, and when the print completes, we’ll see that the vector tile layer printed along with the other map service. There we go.
Next, I’d like to demonstrate that we are also able to print vector tile layers from a Web AppBuilder application.
So, here, I have a very similar site, the vector tile layer base map and the other map service over top. I’ll go ahead and open up my printing widget, hit the ‘Print’ button there. And again, we’ll see that the vector tile layer is printed, there is no configuration or extra work necessary on the user’s part. Printing vector tile layers works right out of the box. There we have it.”
