Application management can be difficult to manage, but with Geocortex Web and Geocortex Mobile, you now have a streamlined mechanism for creating and managing deployment methods by using the Designer. This means you can remove unneeded applications without affecting your end-users.
In this tech tip video, we’ll show you how to clean up associated items with an app.

“Hi I’m Conner. I’m a Software Developer on the Geocortex Web and Geocortex Mobile App Designer Team. Today, we’ll be talking about removing unneeded applications in the Geocortex Web and Geocortex Mobile Designer. Let’s get started!
The problem we are trying to solve today is how to clean up associated items with an app. Luckily, Geocortex Mobile Designer and Geocortex Web Designer does all of this for you!
This demo is being done in Geocortex Mobile Designer, but everything applies with Geocortex Web Designer as well.
So, let’s say we are all done with our app and we’d like to delete it. We also need to delete all the associated items. Here, I have a saved app that I’m all done with that I need to delete. So, look at the three-dot menu, delete. This app has been pushed to testing and production, and Designer has made copies of the web map. This is so that if the original web map was deleted, your test and production environments would be unaffected.
In the delete dialogue, we show you lots of information about items you are about to delete so that you delete the correct items. If we need more information about an item, we can click on it and it will take us to that item in portal.
I can see the sharing permissions about each item, I can also see what groups an item has been shared with. We also give you the option of deleting only certain items, so let’s delete everything, but the dev app itself.
Now, when we go back to the item, we’ll see that only the dev app remains. So, now let’s delete the dev app, and we see that it has been removed from our dashboard and everything has been deleted.
